RotoView app for iPhone and iPad
Developer: INNOVENTIONS, Inc.
First release : 21 Dec 2009
App size: 4.11 Mb
RotoView is the original Smart Scroll technology for tilt-based view navigation of smartphones and tablets. It provides fast scrolling, and is particularly useful when scrolling magnified images with one hand.
This app is intended for technical persons who wish to examine the RotoView API in greater detail. To see how the technology is implemented in an actual app, please check out our new RotoView Photo Magnifier.
RotoView scrolls your photos using the new THROW and GLIDE gestures. Like the Flick touch gesture, the THROW gesture scrolls the screen very rapidly in response to the way you rotate your phone. The GLIDE gesture follows the THROW gesture automatically with slow scrolling. RotoView integrates well with touch gestures, providing a smooth transition between rotation and drag.
Select any photo from your albums, double tap or pinch to magnify, and activate RotoView Smart Scroll with a shake or a tap on the screen. Rotate your phone and watch how smoothly and quickly you can view different areas of the photo. Tap ‘More’ to explore the technology behind RotoView Smart Scroll and experiment with different settings.
Users can navigate their photos and get a glimpse of this new technology, while programmers and product engineers may use it to evaluate the RotoView technology for implementation in their products. For a complete evaluation we recommend that you visit the tutorials on our web site.
Features:
- Zoom in and shake up-and-down to activate
- Simple, intuitive single hand scrolling
- Works with all your stored albums and photos
- Explore numerous settings and advanced features
To improve your experience, we recommend that you reduce the default Inactivity Exit period to about 1 second once you’re familiar with all the optional start and stop commands. This will allow you to stop the scrolling by simply holding your phone without tilting it for one second.
This app is optimized to work with the gyroscope sensor. Limited performance is available for older phones lacking the gyroscope sensor.
